LORC (Lake Ontario Racing Council) is an association of sailing clubs in the Greater Toronto Area. Its purpose is to help promote competitive keelboat sailing in the GTA.
Communication
- publish a central GTA Keelboat Calendar where keelboat racers can find, and host member clubs can promote, all inter-club keelboat racing events in GTA.
- offer member clubs additional channels to publicize, promote, and market their inter-club keelboat racing events e.g. newsletter, LORC Facebook.
- provide a process for inter-club keelboat championships or awards, as wanted by member clubs.
Inter-club Planning
Provide a forum for racers and member clubs to:
- share or plan inter-club racing schedules to minimize scheduling conflicts for both racers and the pool of volunteer race officials.
- collaborate or exchange information for race organization and regatta management.
